Lorne Weiss has been a licensed REALTOR since 1987.  Areas of practice include residential sales as well as commercial and investment leasing and sales.

 

Over the past 35 plus years CENTURY  21 Bachman & Associates he has been awarded the CENTURIAN 21 national award for outstanding sales performance several times and has also been fortunate to have been a consistent brokerage top producer.

 

Throughout his career as a Realtor, Lorne has always believed in the importance of volunteering to make real estate the best experience for fellow REALTORS and their clients. He has served as a director of the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board from 1997 to 2003 and President in 2002. He was director of the Manitoba Real Estate Association from 2003-2023 and President in 2011. Weiss also served on the Canadian Real Estate Association, board of directors for 10 years. During this time, as a director, Lorne also had the opportunity to chair the government affairs committees of each of these organizations several times.

 

Believing that building stronger communities that provide good employment opportunities, affordable housing, and safe neighbourhoods for families to thrive and grow benefits everyone Weiss has volunteered to sit on the boards of several community-based organizations that put this philosophy into practice. These include the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities, Operation Ezra, President of the Chai Folk Arts Council, and the Forks North Portage Development Partnership.

 

Currently, he is the co-founder and Co-chair of Manitoba Tipi Matawa; a not-for-profit charity, in partnership with the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, focused on providing financial skills training and home ownership opportunities for Manitoba First Nation Families living in urban areas.

 

Lorne has been recognized for his volunteer activities by his peers by being honoured as the recipient of the CMHC/MREA award as Outstanding Manitoba REALTOR, the Brian Collie Award for outstanding Achievement in the area of political advocacy on behalf of the association, and the Canadian Real Estate Association Pierre Beauchamp Award for outstanding PAC contribution.

 

Through continuing education he has obtained broker status, the Transnational Referral Certification (TRC) and the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designations.
